Maurice Tuttle

Maurice Eugene Tuttle, 92, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Mr. Tuttle was born on August 2, 1923 in Cherryvale, Kansas to Thomas and Lillian (Lewis) Tuttle. He grew up in the area where he received his high school education. Mr. Tuttle served his country in the United States Navy for several years until his honorable discharge.

On December 17, 1949 he was married to the love of his life, Novella Butler in Nashville, Tennessee. The couple spent 65 wonderful years together. For the majority of their life, they made Coffeyville their home. He enjoyed music, playing steel guitar. At a young age he became a certified H.A.M.M operator and enjoyed amateur radio. During most of his working life he was a Radio Broadcasting Engineer for various Radio Stations in the area. He and Novella were members of the Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church in Coffeyville.

Mr. Tuttle is survived by his loving wife, Novella of the home; sons, James Tuttle of Cherryvale, Kansas, Larry Tuttle and wife, Nora of Ketchum, Oklahoma, Michael Tuttle of Coffeyville, Kansas, Thomas "Tommy" Tuttle and wife, Crystal of Coffeyville, Kansas; daughters, Judy Felts of Box Elder, South Dakota, Vickie Grissom and husband, Brian of Wann, Oklahoma, Eva Larimar and husband, Roger of Killeen, Texas; twelve grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lillian; a grandchild and by his sister, Doris Jensen.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church in Coffeyville, Kansas. Rev. Conn Davis will officiate. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post 1022 and the American Legion Post 20. Friends may call on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. to sign the guest register. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made payable to the Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church; these may also be left with the funeral home.
