MITTIE B. LUKER 1916-2005 Mittie B. Luker, age 89, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away early Monday morning, October 3, 2005 at her residence in Coffeyville. Mittie was born January 25, 1916 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Evans. She married Lester Luker on June 30, 1936 in Paris, Arkansas. In the late 1950s the couple moved to Coffeyville. They later opened Lukers Fast Stop and Laundromat, which they operated until retirement. Mr. Luker preceded her in death on May 29, 2004. She was also a homemaker where she loved and cared for her family. She was a member of the Lewark Church of God, past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star both of Coffeyville; Business and professional womens organization. She is survived by one son, Lester Doug Luker of Coffeyville, Kansas; 3 grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lester; one daughter, Janice Thomas; one grandchild; 3 brothers. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 6, 2005 at the Penwell-Gabel Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Coffeyville, Kansas. Rev. J.D. Wright of the Lewark Church of God, Coffeyville, Ks. will be officiating. Family and friends will gather at the graveside for services.
