Norma Cole

Norma Jean Cole, 84, of Edna, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Labette Health in Parsons, Kansas.

Norma was born on March 17, 1930 in Woodson, Texas to Glen and Esther Scott Hancock. She grew up in Coffeyville, Kansas where she received her high school education. On March 6, 1949 she married the love of her life, Elmo Jack Cole in Coffeyville. They made their home in Edna, Kansas where Norma ran the farm. She bought and sold cattle for over twenty years. She enjoyed raising the cattle and goats on the farm and fishing with Elmo. Norma was a wonderful person who always took care of those around her family, friends and pets. She enjoyed raising her children with Elmo and was the doting grandmother to many wonderful grandchildren.

Norma was a member of the Farm Bureau and the ECOs in Edna where they organized fundraisers for various things. She also served on the Edna Library Board. Norma spent much of her free time sewing, quilting, embroidering and making crafts of all sorts.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Elmo Jack of the home daughters, Pamela Clevenger and husband, Carl Bill of Edna, Kansas, Janice Cole of Coffeyville, Kansas son, Michael Cole and wife, Bonita of Independence, Missouri grandchildren, Brenda McNickel and husband, Gary, Carla Bebb and husband, John, Brent Clevenger and wife, Michelle, Kelly Ernst and husband, Matt, Chris Cole great grandchildren, Rachel Bebb, Dillon McNickel, Kendal Bebb, Macy Clevenger, Olivia Ernst and Vance Ernst sister, Gay Ann Hersh and husband, Kenneth of Fredonia, Kanas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Esther.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Edna, Kansas. Burial will follow at the North Edna Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas from 2pm4pm where the family will greet friends. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made payable to the First Baptist Church of Edna these may be left with the funeral home.
