Norma Hopson

Norma Jean Hopson, 76, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Norma was born on September 24, 1937 in Drumright, Oklahoma to Clyde H. and Jewell R. Mings Slaton. She grew up in Drumright, Oklahoma where she received her high school education.

On November 17, 1962 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Harold G. Hopson. The couple made their home in Mannford, Oklahoma they later moved to Coffeyville, Kanas. Harold preceded her in death on September 5, 2011. After Harold passed, she moved to Sand Springs, Oklahoma to live with her daughter. Norma worked for Jubilee City in Drumright, Oklahoma as a Sales Clerk and for WalMart in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a Sales Associate.

Norma was a member of the Church of Christ in Coffeyville, Kansas and Mannford, Oklahoma. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and playing Tetris.

Surviving to honor her memory are her children, Gina and Layle Carter of Sand Springs, Oklahoma Mike and wife Susan Hopson of Stroud, Oklahoma grandchildren, Cody Carter, Emily Carter, Tate Crauthers, Drake Hopson brother, Alvin Slaton and a sister, Mary Pane both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Jewell loving husband, Harold brothers, Clyde Junior Slaton, Jack Slaton, Kenneth Slaton, and Bill Slaton.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas. FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville will be handling arrangements.
