She was born May 25, 1916 to James Thomas amp; Sarah Almeda Lawrence Middleton in Dighton, Oklahoma. On April 9, 1932 she married Vyrl V. Smith in Joplin, Missouri. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Smith attended Baptist Churches all her life. Survivors inlcude her husband Vyrl of Coffeyville; 3 sons, James L. Smith Pat; Nowata, Ok.; Terry V. Smith, Sand Springs, Ok.; Kenneth Eddie Smith Natasha, Coffeyville; 1 daughter, Kay Seidel, Walt, Phillipsburg, Ks. 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, James amp; Sarah Middleton, 1 daughter, Donna V. Thomas, 1 sister, Pearl M. LeSuer, 1 brother, Arlis Middleton, 1 granson, Stephen Yates, 1 great-grandson, Andrew Yates; Calling hoursVisitation: Mrs. Smith will body will lie in state on Sunday, March 5, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
