Ralph Manning

Ralph E Manning age 91 of Coffeyville passed away on March 24, 2018 at St Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK.

Ralph was born in Greeley, CO on November 22, 1926 to Joseph Adron and Edell (Lipe) Manning. He attended school in McDonald County Missouri up to the eight grade where he tested out of school and continued his education at the Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN. It was during his time in college that he met Isabel Bain. The couple started dating and later married on December 20, 1946 with Isabel's father being the minister. To this union the couple was blessed with two daughters, Vivian in 1947 and JoyAnn in 1961. The family made their home in the Coffeyville area in the 50's. Ralph worked for Parkersburg Rig and Reel, J. C. Wilson Construction, Paul Good Construction, and then founded his own construction business from which he recently retired at the age of 85. Ralph enjoyed building things with his hands, he loved helping Isabel, his woodworking, and any project that involved creating something with his hands (the more risk involved the better). Ralph was a devoted church member of the First Church of the Nazarene. He served in many fashions with the church being a Sunday school teacher and Superintendent, head usher, church bus driver, and literally helping to build the church.
Ralph was known to play a prank, putting fake snakes around the house to scare the grandchildren was always one of his favorites. He loved spending time with his children, and great-grandchildren playing board games, card, games, and great adventures that he would plan weeks prior to the grandchildren's arrival. Ralph always seemed to stay busy. He might be described as being ornery, independent, persistent, but above all he will be remembered most for his love of his church and his family.

Ralph's memories live on with his daughters, Vivian Versaw and JoyAnn Manning, grandchildren, Larry Versaw his wife Heidi, Michelle Hayes her husband Harvey, John Versaw his wife Rachel, Christina Stewart her husband Scott, great grandchildren, Jarred Versaw, Miranda Versaw, Justin Neel, Isaiah Versaw, Olivia Versaw, Isabella Stewart, Trinity Stewart, and Amelia Hayes.

Ralph rests with his parents, his wife of 62 ½ years, granddaughter, Cheryl Versaw, brothers, Marvin, Norman, and Arthur Manning, sister, Rose Nichols.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the First Church of the Nazarene at 10:00am with Pastor Ford Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Friends are invited to sign the register and greet the family on Friday, March 30, 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel.
