Richard Jarrett, Age 67, Pryor, Oklahoma resident, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2005 at the Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born June 1, 1938, the son of Morris L. and Ruth M. Walton Jarrett. Richard worked as a Switchman for the Katy Railroad many years. He retired in 1988. He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. Richard was very proud of his Native American Heratige having belonged to both the Cherokee and Deleware Indian Tribes. He was an accomplished woodworker and needleworker. He loved to fish and play golf. Richard always had an interest in outdoor activities. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. Richard was an avid sports fan and Yankees Fan Survivors include: 3 Sons: Christopher L. Jarrett Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Jeff D. Jarrett and wife Annie Adair, Oklahoma Shannon Morin Edna, Kansas 2 Daughters: Shelley S. Nolop and husband Robert Edna, Kansas Heather Biggs and husband Tres Edna, Kansas 2 Brothers: Eugene W. Jarrett and his wife Joan Hopewell Junction, NY Morris D. Jarrett and wife Sam Chanute, Kansas 1 Sister: Carol Caulkins and husband Ronald Coffeyville, Kansas 7 Grandchildren 2 Great Grandchildren Richard was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Leonard Marvin Jarrett. A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 21, at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with the Reverend Richard Rounds officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Richard will lie in state after 1:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home with the famly receiving friends from 7-8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association left co the funeral home.
