Robert Lee Johnson (82) of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023, at his home with his wife at his side who always called him “Honey” and surrounded by family.

Robert was born to Tim Johnson and Lessie Mae Banks on March 11, 1941, in Junction City, Arkansas. He was the oldest of 9 siblings and grew up in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Robert was a hard worker and took much pride in protecting, providing for, and taking care of his family.

Robert married Marie Ann Johnson on December 7, 1994. Robert was a very hard worker, he started working construction at an early age, but switched over to Santa Fe Railroad where he retired.

He was a member of Sardis First Missionary Baptist Church, and truly enjoyed going to church to worship the Lord.

Robert leaves behind to cherish in his memory: His wife Marie Ann Johnson, five children: Tony Johnson (Sheila) Kimberly Bolden (Curtis), Martinie Freeman (Tony), Meko Johnson, Jeff McCoy, 2 step children: Angela McDaniel-Newman (Almando) and Fred McDaniel, 4 siblings: Nellie Johnson Grant (Al), Betty Jackson (David), Lester Fullard (Anitris), Arnold Fullard (Heather), a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Robert is proceeded in death by his mother Lessie Mae Fullard, Brothers Frank Fullard, Henry T Fullard and Ronald Fullard; sister: Linda Burns, and a stepdaughter Latiesha Ward.

Robert was loved and respected by so many people near and far and he will be greatly missed.

A Home Coming Service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 11am at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church, 414 E 2nd St., in Coffeyville with Pastor Armagen Walker officiating.  The family will receive friends on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 5-7pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., also in Coffeyville.  The family request memorial contributions to be made in Robert’s memory to a charity of your choice. Contributions may be left in care of the chapel. Following the Home Coming service Robert’s committal services will be held at the Veterans Memorial Patio in Fairview Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.  To leave a message of condolence, share a memory visit www.fordwulfburnschape.com
