Robert (Bob) Joseph Maritt age 80, of Coffeyville, KS passed away at his home on April 2, 2016.
Bob was born on March 25, 1936 in Coffeyville, KS to James and Opal (Pool) Maritt. He grew up in Coffeyville and attended and graduated from Field Kindley High School. After high school Bob graduated from Coffeyville Vo-Tech, then entered the work force. For a short time Bob owned and managed the gas station in Elk City, KS, he then went to work for the ACME Foundry as a machinist, and then to Parmac also as a machinist where he devoted over 37 years of service, after retiring he opened R&R RC Model Cars and Planes, he also owned Glendale Estates. In 1977 Bob married Becky Wood, she preceded him in death in 2007. In 2008 Bob married Karan Nugent , she survives of the home. Bob was a member of Circle C Saddle Club, SEK Sheriffs Mounted Posse, Tornado Alley Model Aviators, and was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he has been a Liturgist for 22 years. Bob enjoyed flying remote controlled planes, horses, motorcycles, racing boats, and boating, most of all he enjoyed people and his family.
Left to honor his memory is his Wife Karan, son James Maritt his wife Janet, daughters, Jody Schoonover her husband Marvin, Becky Stapleton her husband Jay, Joyce Fisher her husband Roger and Dawn Weaver, siblings James and his wife Virginia, Orlin, Dean and his wife Pat, and Freda, 7 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Becky, brother Dan, sister Helen 2 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 7, 2016 at Trinity United Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. with internment following at Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends are invited to Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel to sign the register on Wednesday April 6, 2016 from 9:00am from 8:00pm with the family receiving guests from 5 to 8. The family has suggested memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or Trinity United Methodist Church and they may be left with the Chapel.
