Ronald Wayne Garrtson, age 75 passed away on February 24, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at St. John’s Medical Center.
He was born on December 31, 1950, in Coffeyville, Kansas to RK and Betty (Medford) Garretson. He grew up on the family farm and participated in FFA and 4H until he went to OSU after graduating from Lenapah High School.
From an early age, Ronnie learned the value of hard work. He worked as a maintenance man for 30 years, known for his reliability, strong, work ethic, and ability to fix just about anything. He took great pride in providing for his family and always put their needs before his own. His greatest accomplishment was being a girl dad.
Above all he was a dedicated husband to his wife Gloria and father to Betty, Maggie, and Stacey showing his love through life lessons. Some of the qualities that defined him were compassion, honesty, and understanding.
In his free time Ronnie enjoyed spending time with family, grilling, and tinkering. He was known for sayings and humor - when he told to be safe, he would reply, “got to be”, and when ask if you could call him Ron, he’d say, “you can call me anything, even late for dinner!” These little moments reflected the warmth, wit, and love he shared with everyone around him.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Ann Garrettson, his children, Betty, Maggie, and Stacey, his grandchildren, Zachary, Amelia, Nathan, and Justin, and brothers Rick, Randy, and Robert. He also leaves behind his best buddies, Bear, and Cooper.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, RK and Betty Garretson.
Ronnie leaves behind a legacy of strength, sacrifice, and unconditional love. His family finds comfort, knowing that the lessons he taught and the example he set will continue to guide them for years to come.
Honoring Ronnie‘s wishes, cremation will take place under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel of Coffeyville.
