SANDRA D. EWING GEORGE 1935-2005 Sandra D. Ewing George, age 70, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away September 15, 2005 at her residence in Coffeyville. She was born January 7, 1935 in Independence, Kansas to Samuel and Carol Conner Ewing. She grew up in Independence and Coffeyville rural areas. She attended rural schools and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1952. She was the Football Queen in 1952 and was a drummer in the FKHS Drum and Bugle Corps in 1951 and 1952. She married Lloyd George in April of 1952 and became a housewife and mother of three. He preceded her in death in 1982. She worked in Real Estate for 42 years. She became a real estate sales person in 1963 working for her mother at Carol G. Ewing Realty. Obtaining her brokers license in 1968, Sandra and her husband purchased the company and started George REALTORS in the early 1970s. She retired in 1996 from real estate. She was a member of the Kansas Association of REALTORS. She was active in Coffeyville Ladies Bowling League. She also was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. She married Roy Copenhaver and they later
orced. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd George, one son, Thomas George in 2000 and one brother David Ewing. She is survived by her children David L. George Cheryl of Coffeyville and Carol B. George-Mangan of Coffeyville. She had five grandchildren: Thomas George of Little Rock, Arkansas, Kimberly Mangan of Coffeyville, Lucas George of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jonathan George of Wichita, Kansas, Andrew George of Austin, Texas and Jason George of Coffeyville; three great-granchildren: Brinly, Braeden and Kean; one brother, Michael Ewing of Tulsa, Oklahoma and sisters, Ardis McLeod of Northville, MI and Judith Miller of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, September 18, 2005 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 19, 2005 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Sandra George Foundation Scholarship Fund and these remembrances may be left in care of the funeral home.
