Steven Luke Loomis

February 1, 1965 — June 21, 2025

Coffeyville, Kansas

Steven Luke Loomis, fondly known as “Slime” from his wrestling days, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 21, 2025. Born in Coffeyville, Kansas, to Charles and Vicki Loomis, Steve lived a life full of grit, heart, and fun. He built more than just structures—he built people, memories, and a lasting legacy.

A 1983 graduate of Field Kindley High School, Steve was active in wrestling and football, later attending Labette Community College. He went on to master carpentry and machining, eventually owning Warren Mountain Construction. Known for his craftsmanship and generosity, he loved teaching others and sharing his skills.

Steve’s passion for wrestling extended into mentorship. He became a coach and “bonus dad” to many, guiding young people with his tough love, humor, and wisdom. Whether working or coaching, he helped shape strong, resilient lives.

In his younger years, Steve rode motorcycles on the Picher chat piles and played bluegrass at Silver Dollar City. Always ready with a story or adventure, his life was marked by laughter, loyalty, and spontaneous joy.

Steve was first married to Monica in 1986, and together they welcomed two children, Tori and Dalton. In 2020, he married Tonya, adding new love and companionship to his life. Through every chapter, Steve had a deep love and care for people from all walks of life. He lived fully, gave freely, and left joy wherever he went.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Hugh and Floy Loomis, Victor and Lorraine Pocock; parents Charles and Vicki Loomis; uncle Daryl Pocock; and many close friends.

He is survived by his children, Tori and Dalton (Samantha); grandchildren, Adarian, Bryson, Makenzie, and Jaycen; brother, Brian Loomis; nephew, Ian Loomis; and countless friends, family, and “adopted” kids.
