Thelma Margaret Blevins Brown, age 88, of Coffeyville, Kansas died Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Dearing Christian Church with the Pastor Jamie Regis of the Dearing Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas. Friends may leave online messages at www.fordwulfbrunschapel.com

The family has suggested memorials to the Dearing Christian Church and contributions may be left at the FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Thelma was born March 31, 1925 in Washington County, Oklahoma to Phillip Owen and Laura Alice Atterberry Blevins. She grew up in Washington County attended a country one room school house.

On July 18, 1942 Thelma married William N. Brown in Independence, Kansas the couple made their home in Coffeyville, Kansas. Thelma was a homemaker and a member of the CB Club, Ceramic Club in Dearing and the Dearing Christian Church. Thelma hobbies were Ceramics, Crocheting, Sewing, Quilting, Embroidery Painting and embroidery. Thelma was also a very active child care giver to Jessica Van Dyke and many others.

Survivors include her husband of the home four daughters Beverly and husband Jerald Kirkland of Copan, Oklahoma, L. Marlene White and husband Bob of MildredMarian, Kansas, Phyllis J. and husband Doug Harmon of Dearing, Kansas and Laura J. and husband Bill Cunningham of Oswego, Kansas one brother Johnnie Blevins of Claremore, Oklahoma eight grandchildren Gregory Kirkland, Keith Kirkland, Sheila English, Shari Anderson, Spencer Brown, Allen Brown, Sonya Kruse, and Jeremy Cunningham 26 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers George Blevins, Cecile Blevins, Dalphis Blevins, and Jake Blevins two Sisters Lottie Pearson and Lavina Mickels one great granddaughter and one great grandson.
