Virla Deraad

Virla DeRaad 1907-2005 Virla DeRaad, age 98, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Saturday, August 27, 2005 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville. She was born February 14, 1907 in Seney, Iowa to Charles W. Cook and Martha J. Reeves Cook. Virla married Alfred V. DeRaad December 31, 1930 in Le Mars, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1969. Her hobbies included crocheting, reading and raising potted plants. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Virla was very active in the lives of her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include: 1 Daughter, Doris Armstrong of Coffeyville, KS. 1 Son, Dean DeRaad of Coffeyville, KS. 6 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, Several Great-Great Grandchildren Several Nieces and Nephews. There will be no calling hours. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at 1:00 PM in the Resthaven Cemetery in Le Mars, Iowa. Memorials may be given to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice co the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville.
