William Moore

William Bill Harold Moore of Coffeyville, Kansas died Saturday, September 7, 2013. He was born November 20, 1915 in Cherokee County, Kansas near Columbus, Kansas, the son of James Ira and Minnie Belle Jarrett Moore.

He graduated from Labette County High School in 1933 and was in faithful attendance at the annual reunions until his health failed.

Bill married Cora Pearl Richardson in 1936 that died in an auto accident in 1938. A son Jimmie D. was born of that marriage.

Bill married Leona Mae Wilson in 1939 they were married for 68 years before her death in 2008. A daughter Carol Ann was born of that marriage.

He retired from Parmac, having worked there since the mid 1930s. When he joined the work force it was known as OCS Oil Country Specialties. While working at Parmac, he managed a small dairy farm, milking cows by hand before and after work. In later years he raised cattle, actively buying and selling at the local stockyard. He was in his early 90s when he finally sold the herd. He also enjoyed gardening and providing surplus produce to his friends and family.

Bill enjoyed sports he played basketball and softball for local teams. Many an annual vacation was planned to coincide with the World Series. After retirement from Parmac, Bill and Leona purchased a motor home and enjoyed camping with friends.

Surviving are son, Jimmie D. Moore MD, wife Kaye of Christmas, Florida grandchildren, Lori L. Brewer of Bartlesville, OK, Summer L Farnsworth, Bartlesville, OK, Brian B. Moore, Rockville, MD, James R. Moore, Christmas, FL, M. Edrie Moore, Orlando, FL and Jennifer Winston, Orlando, FL and six greatgrandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, James Ira and Minnie Bell Jarrett Moore spouses, Cora Pearl Richardson Moore and Leona Mae Wilson Moore Preceding him in death were his parents, James Ira and Minnie Bell Jarrett Moore spouses, Cora Pearl Richardson Moore and Leona Mae Wilson Moore daughter, Carol Ann Roberts sisters, Edna Almeda, Lena Delores Evens, Elna Mae Reel, Marianne Wilson brothers, James Everett, Leo Roy and Allen Dale Moore.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 11:00 am at the FordWulfBruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville with Pastor Jamie Regis of Dearing Christian Church officiating. Friends may sign the register on September 10 from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm.

The family has suggested memorial contributions be made in Bills memory to Dearing Christian Church andor Harry Hynes Hospice and may be left with FordWulfBruns Chapel.
