William E. Waddle, Sr. Age 96 September 4, 1908 October 29, 2004 William E. Waddle, Sr., Age 96, Coffeyville, Kansas resident, passed away on October 29, 2004 in the Windsor Place Oxford Unit Coffeyville, Kansas. He was born September 4, 1908 in Nemaha County, Nebraska to Charles and Mary Alice Waddle. On June 13, 1931 William married Vivian Virginia Bibs Fuller. The couple lived in San Francisco, California for many years before retiring in Coffeyville. Mr. Waddle started his printer career with the Coffeyville Journal where he worked for many years moving to California in 1947. Mr. Waddle retired from Typographical Union 21 in San Francisco, California. He worked as a PrinterCompositor at the San Francisco Newspaper Printing Company. He received a 70 year pen in his recognition. He was a member of the South Coffeyville, Oklahoma Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge, Coffeyville, Kansas. They were accomplished ballroom dancers and frequently entertained various groups with exhibitions of their talent. They were very involved locally with Square Dancing. He is survived by one son, William Waddle, Jr. and wife Selma of Dearing, Kansas. Three grandchildren, Ronald Waddle, Bartlesville, Oklahoma; David Waddle, Kirkwood, California; Cathy Weil, South Lake Tahoe, California. Two great grandsons, Shawn Bryce Waddle of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his wife Vivian Waddle on July 3, 2004, three brothers and five sisters. Calling hours will be held at the Penwell-Gabel Graves Chapel, 1117 W. 8th Street, Coffeyville, Kansas from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2004. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday evening October 7, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Graves Chapel, 1117 W. 8th Street, Coffeyville, Kansas with Rev. Ivey Collier of South Coffeyville Methodist Church officiating. Private burial will take place at a later time. Online obituary may be read at www.penwellgabel.com.
