Brian Grissom

Brian E. Grissom of Wann, Oklahoma passed away with his wife and loved ones by his side, at the age of 61, on December 13, 2022.

The spring of 1961 welcomed more than just April showers, it was the spring that Delmour and Charlene (Jordan) Grissom welcomed their newborn son, Brian Eugene on April 19th in Nowata, Oklahoma.  Brian grew up in Delaware where he also attending school, completing his education at Delaware High School.

Brian started working straight out of high school working for his dad at Delta Machine & Electric Company in Nowata for quite a while before opening his own mechanic shop.  Electrical work was something he enjoyed, and returned to the trade working for HB Zachary, a contractor at Phillips in Bartlesville.  Brian had 20 years of employment with CVR Energy, formerly known as Farmland Industries, as an electrician before his health began to fail.

Family traditions ran deep in the Grissom men, electrical work wasn’t the only tradition. Brian’s dad taught he and his brother, Bradley how farm and ranch. It wasn’t just another job to Brian he truly loved every part of it.  He grew up horseback and broke many a colt, he continued to farm and ranch raising cattle, working in the hay field, raising game chickens. In his free time, he enjoyed coon hunting and raising dogs training them to be great hunters and man’s best friend. If he couldn’t be found he was somewhere outside working, putting up hay or fixing something.  You didn’t want to tell him you couldn’t fix something or do something because he would tell you “You can do it”.  He saw the value in everything, never wanting to waste anything.  Everything always had its place and he always put everything back where it belonged, making it easy to find.

Brian was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family, friends, and neighbors.  Those who knew him knew he was a humble man never wanting any attention drawn to himself or notoriety.

“The Cowboy Capital Jubilee” a band that Brian, his brother Brad, sister-in-law Linda, his mom Charlene, stepdad Willie Norris, and nephew Marcus Grissom put together.  They performed to raise funds to refurbish the Lenapah High School Rock Gym.

May 18, 2002, Brian married the love of his life Vickie Line, blending their families.  The couple were married in Arkansas, making their home in Lenapah before moving to their forever farm in Wann.  Together they raised cattle, farmed, hayed and all that farm life required.

Brian leaves behind a family that loved him deeply, his wife Vickie survives the home. He also leaves behind his children Brent Grissom and his wife April, Brandi Rutledge; stepchildren he loved has his own, Eric Line Jr. and his wife Steffanie, Eran Line and wife Erica, Jeremy Line and his wife Angel, Ricky Line and Katie; grandchildren, Abigail Grissom, Hayley Grissom, Kelsey Scott, Kristen Line, Eric Line, Allison Robinson, Jeremy Line Jr., Ethan Line, Katie Line, Lilly Line and Bo Line; great grandchildren, Mason Line, Ellie Line, Skylan Robinson, Wesley Robinson, Braylynn Robinson; mother Charlene Norris; brother Brad Grissom and wife Linda.  He was preceded in death by his dad Delmour Grissom, and stepdad, Willie Norris.
