Darrel Arnold

Darrel Douglas Arnold age 76 of Coffeyville was welcomed in the arms of his Savior on December 18, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Darrel was born in Parsons, Kansas on December 9, 1941 to Tollie and Goldie (Fromm) Arnold. At the age of fourteen Darrel lost his Dad after a long illness. Tollie ask his brother and sister in law, Hershel and Nina Arnold to help his Mother raise Darrel to be a man of honor and integrity. Darrel attended grade school in rural Welch and graduated from Miami High School. After high school Darrel enlisted in the United States Army, after his years of service he was honorably discharged. After his discharge Darrel moved to Coffeyville where he was employed by Junge's Bakery and transferred to Bentonville, Arkansas. He met the love of his life, Charlotte Snyder in Miami, Oklahoma on a weekend visit, soon after they were united in marriage on November 20, 1964 in Chetopa, Kansas. The couple started their journey together in Bentonville, Arkansas where they resided for two years. Together they returned to Coffeyville continuing to work for Junge's Bakery, over the years he worked in sales for various employers retiring from Lawson Products in 2011. It had always been a dream of Darrel's to have his own farm, together they have resided on there farm for the past 24 years outside of Coffeyville. Darrel and Charlotte were blessed with two daughters, Tollie and Tonya, being their dad was one of Darrel's proudest achievements.

Darrel was a member of the Dearing Christian Church, the Keystone Masonic Lodge #102, and the Ft Scott Scottish Rite Temple. He enjoyed being outdoors and everything nature had to offer; hunting, fishing, golfing, rodeos, working his cattle, and caring for the farm. Darrel was a man of God, helping his family, friends, and strangers was just his way of life. Although strangers were not strangers for long, once you met him you were his friend and he was your true friend. Darrel was a devoted husband, a loving dad, and the best "Papa", "Pops" or "Papa Darrel" to his grandchildren.

Darrel's memories will live on through his wife Charlotte, daughters, Tollie Haymaker her husband Tom, Tonya Arnold-Arbeitman, grandchildren, Bradley Haymaker his wife Amber, Christopher Haymaker his wife Leah, Douglas Haymaker his wife Samantha, Gabrielle Arbeitman, Elijah Arbeitman, and Halle Arbeitman, great-grandchildren, Karson Haymaker, Isabell Haymaker, Piper Haymaker, and Charlotte Jo Haymaker, and aunt, Nina Arnold, uncle Roy Arnold, aunts, Maggie Williamson and husband Charles, Margaret Pliler, Danelle Willim and husband Doug, and a host of cousins and friends.

He now rests with his parents, grandparents, Dan and Millie Arnold, W.C. "Bill" and Grace Fromm and a host of aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dearing Christian Church with Pastor Jamie Regis officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopa. Friends are invited to sign the register and greet the family on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
