Leah J. Stewart passed away on December 7, 2020 at the age of 79 in Cherryvale Nursing Center, Cherryvale, Kansas.

Leah was born on October 17, 1941 at Caney, Kansas to Leonard and Dora (Lee) Coltharp.  The family moved to Commerce, Oklahoma where she attended and graduated from Commerce High School in 1959, she attended NEO.

On September 18, 1960 she married Paul Stewart in Commerce, Oklahoma.   The couple moved to Caney, Kansas and later to Independence where she became a day care provider to many children over the years.

Her hobbies included, bowling where she won several trophies, also crocheting, crafts, bead work and going to arts and craft fairs.

Leah and Paul were long time members of the Tyro Christian Church where she taught Sunday School and was involved in the Missions Department, Vacation Bible School.  She was also the secretary of the Sunday School Department.

Leah is survived by her husband, Paul of the home; two children, Larry and his wife Julie Stewart of Cherryvale, Kansas, Kenneth and his wife Lisa Stewart of Tulsa, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Tyler and his wife Jackie Stewart, Megan Stewart, Caleb Stewart, Joshua Stewart, Jacob Stewart, Crystal and her husband Tim Eccles and Chris Johns; four great grandchildren; sister, Cathy Coltharp of Miami, Oklahoma.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister, Loreli and brother, Dale Coltharp of Miami.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas at 9:00 am with Evangelist David Bycroft officiating.  Due to COVID-19 for the protection of the family facial mask are required and social distancing is encouraged.  Burial will take place at G.A.R Cemetery in Miami, Oklahoma.  The family has requested memorials be made payable to Tyro Christian Church and may be left in care of the chapel.  To leave an online condolence for the family visit www.fordwulfbrunschapel.com
