Phyllis Stuckey

Phyllis V. Stuckey passed away at the age of 86 on July 20, 2022, in Coffeyville, Kansas at Medicalodge on Midland.

Phyllis was born on March 21, 1936, in Coffeyville Kansas to Wayne and Wilma (Gaughan) Cornett.  She grew up in the Coffeyville, Lenapah area with her parents and siblings. She completed her education at Field Kindley Memorial High School.

Phyllis married Jack Knowlton and together they had two sons, Robert, and Eddie.

Phyllis had a special bond with each of her sons, she called each of them multiple times a day, discussing the day, asking questions or just to say she loved them.  The loss of her son Eddie back in 2000 was devastating, a mother never anticipates having to bury her child.

Sunday dinners were usually spent with her son Robert, and his wife Lynda.  She treasured her family and her true desire in life was to spend quality time with her children and later grandchildren.   They will always remember her as a loving, selfless person that was always willing to help in any way she could.  She was often guilty of spoiling her grandchildren that she loved so.  Watching old Western Movies was one of her favorite pass times and though she wasn’t one to fix up much she did enjoy having her nails freshly polished.

Cherishing her memory and legacy is her son Robert Knowlton and his wife Lynda, grandchildren, Angela Pena (Fransisco) and Bradley Knowlton (Sandy) and great grandchildren, Gabriella and Elleana Pena, step great grandchildren, Peyton and Zacary Loveall.  She is now at rest with her parents, Wayne Cornett and Wilma M. Schultz and step father, Bob Schultz, and brother, Charles Wayne Cornett.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 10 am at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas.  A private burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her father, Wayne Cornett.  The family has suggested memorials be made payable to the Coffeyville Friends of Animals and may be left in care of the chapel.  To share a memory or to leave an online condolence visit www.fordwulfbrunschapel.com
