Slyenthus George Neal was born on November 16, 1938 in Coffeyville, Kansas to George A and Olivia (Patt) Neal.  Slyenthus Neal was called to be by our Lord and Savior on January 15, 2020.

Slyenthus who went by the name Sly was raised in the Coffeyville area. He graduated from Field Kindley and played sports there as well. Sly moved to Denver, Colorado and joined the National Guard where his maternal grandmother resided.  While residing there he married Shirley Mae on September 9, 1960. Shirley had two children Anthony and Vicki Brooks.  To this union were three children, Mone’t Olivia, Darrell Eugene, Kevin Dion.

In Denver, Colorado Sly worked for Continental Airlines, Butternut Bread and obtained his CDL licenses. He traveled extensively over the United States, living in Texas, Kansas and California.  Relocating to the Los Angeles area he met Judith Selfa known as Barbara and to that union a set of twins were born Keri and Megan. He worked for the Transit System of Los Angeles there.  Returning to Denver, Colorado he drove for many companies in the metro area. Finally retiring to Coffeyville, Kansas he met and married Doris Neal. He worked for the SEK-Cap until his health worsened.

Slyenthus leaves to cherish his life three daughters, Mone’t Neal (Baron) of Aurora, Colorado, Keri (Clinton Cameron), Megan Neal of Los Angeles, California and three sons, Anthony Brooks, Darrell Neal, Kevin (Felicia) Neal of Denver, Colorado and 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephew and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Madeleine McAlester, wife Shirley Neal, and daughter Vicki Brooks.

Merciful father, as we mourn the death of our father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and thank you for his life, we ask you to look upon us with compassion.  You promised that you are near to the broken-hearted and close to those who are crushed in spirit. Draw near to us Lord and may we find comfort in your presence.  Give rest to our troubled hearts and replace our fear with faith. You are the way, the truth and the life. Help us to follow you, to know you and to find life in you.  Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
