Dorothy Broadway

Dorothy Jean Broadway age 58 of Pittsburg, Kansas gained her wings on August 23, 2021, at Ascension Via Christi in Pittsburg.

Dorothy was born on March 27, 1963, to Robert and Dorothy M. West in Hayti, Missouri.  As young girl she and her family moved to Lenapah were she attended school and graduated from Lenapah High School.

Dorothy enjoyed life, before her health failed, she enjoyed working as a caretaker for some of the most loving people.  She cherished spending time with her family, friends, and her grandchildren.  One of her favorite pastimes was reading, she read every book she could get her hands on.  She was an avid fisherwoman; she could sit by the pond fishing for hours.

Those she spent a lifetime loving will miss her most and will continue to cherish those days are her children, Kelvin Sherrell and Tamra (Sherrell) Chatman of Pittsburg, Kansas; six grandchildren, Montrey, Siriana, Sir Jr. “Butter”, Raqueal, Aerionna, Aniyah; three sisters, Emma West and her husband Robert Hudnell of Coffeyville, Kansas, Jeanetta West of Phoenix, Arizona, Sandra West of Coffeyville, Kansas; brother, Robert West and his wife Viola of Coffeyville, Kansas; aunt, Rose Kennard; uncle, Nathaniel Clark and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 1pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas.  Dorothy will be laid to rest near her family at Hickory Creek Cemetery, rural Lenapah, Oklahoma.  To leave an online condolence or share a memory visit www.fordwulfbrunschapel.com
