Donna Dee Ghazai
Donna was born on September 11, 1953, in Coffeyville, Kansas. Donna attended Longfellow Elementary and Field Kindley Memorial High School. Around the age of 15, Donna started work cleaning at Strickland’s Beauty Shop. She got her cosmetology license around the age of 17, and later she worked as a hair stylist in her home salon in Coffeyville. In 1976, Abe and Donna got married and had three children. Donna worked at the US Postal Service in Coffeyville before moving to Omaha, Nebraska in 1989 for Abe’s position at Union Pacific Railroad. While in Omaha, Donna worked for many years as a psych tech at PMIC in Council Bluffs. In 2011, Abe and Donna moved to a beautiful plot of land in Lathrop, Missouri.
Donna was a wonderful and loving daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Donna loved people, and her colorful and fun spirit provided her with many friends. She took special joy in becoming Grammy and adored her grandchildren who adored her back. Donna touched the lives of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and love.
Donna was predeceased by her parents William “Bill” and Mary Bogart, and her brother Allan Bogart. Donna is survived by her husband Abe Ghazai; children Rayhaneh Ghazai, Jamal Ghazai, and Solaiman “Sol” and wife Debi Ghazai; grandchildren Delilah Ghazai and Thadeous Bennett; along with extended family and countless friends who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
To celebrate Donna’s life, we will gather together to receive friends and family on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, beginning at noon until her services begin at 2pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Avenue, Coffeyville, Kansas. Donna will be laid to rest at Lake Creek Union Cemetery, east of Coffeyville, next to her parents William “Bill” and Mary Bogart. In lieu of traditional mourning, we request the joy of your company in bright colors, to share stories, laughter, and tears, just as Donna would have wanted.
